Portraits of unidentified sitters by American and foreign photographers and photograph studios. Included are cabinet card photographs, albumen prints, black-and-white prints, and studio mounts of various sizes, dating from 1869 through the early 20th century. Among the photographers and studios represented in the collection are Allen & Rowell, Elmer Chickering, Fred Green, Jose Maria Mora, Notman Photograph Company, James Notman, and James E. Purdy. Photographs include individual and group portraits of men, women, and children.
